John D. Cressler is a professor and author.  Cressler’s historical fiction is aimed at bringing alive medieval Muslim Spain using compelling love stories.  This site focuses on his works in historical fiction through blog posts, event updates, reviews, and background material.  Readers interested in medieval Spain, interfaith issues, and the depiction of convivencia will find the Anthems of al-Andalus series compelling.  With detailed research into historical settings, including the Ahlambra Palace, medieval Granada and Córdoba, and Madinat al-Zahra come alive in the two novels. The third novel in the series is currently in development and will be set in Granada and Malaga at the fall of the Muslim kingdom in 1492.
