The Neshama Interfaith Center of Atlanta has a special evening planned in November around Shadows in the Shining City. The event will center on the fundamental question, “What Medieval Muslim Spain Can Teach Us About Achieving Peace in Our Broken World.”
The evening will center on a presentation about Cressler’s latest novel, Shadows in the Shining City, which is set in 10th century multicultural Córdoba, at the apex of the Golden Age of Muslim Spain, that unique period of Spanish history when Muslims, Jews and Christians lived together in relative harmony and peace. The presentation will include background on this remarkable period, a visit to Córdoba, and a discussion of the many achievements of medieval Muslim Spain and their relevance for today’s world. The evening will include shared dialogue on the lessons from that civilization that can serve as a path forward in healing today’s broken world. Join us!
Free. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
